Terms of Service
Draft — last updated September 30, 2026. Effective when published.
These Terms are an agreement between you and [COMPANY NAME] ("Lore", "we", "us") about your use of Lore. By creating an account or using Lore, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy.
1. Who can use Lore
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must give accurate account information and keep your password secure. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- One person per account. Don't create accounts for other people or share your login.
2. How Lore works
Lore lets you create private groups, invite friends, save shared memories with photos and videos, and play a timeline game with them.
- Groups are private to their current members. Everyone in a group can see everything added to it, including people who join later.
- Invite links let anyone who has them join the group until the link expires, is used up, or is turned off. Only share them with people you want in the group.
- Group admins can rename the group, manage invites, remove members, delete any memory in the group, and delete the entire group. The person who creates a group is its first admin.
3. Your content
"Your content" means anything you add to Lore: memories, stories, photos, videos, tags, reactions and similar material.
- You own your content. We don't claim ownership of it.
- License to us. So we can run Lore, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process (for example resize images and remove metadata), display and transmit your content, only to provide Lore to you and the members of the groups you share it with, to keep Lore secure, and to comply with law. We don't use your content for advertising and we don't sell it.
- When the license ends. The license ends when your content is deleted from Lore, except for copies that remain for a limited time in backups (see the Privacy Policy) and anything we're required by law to keep.
- Others' content. Other members' content belongs to them. You may view it in Lore; don't copy or share it outside the group without their permission.
4. Your responsibilities for content
When you add content, you confirm that:
- you have the right to share it (for example you took the photo, or have permission from whoever did);
- the people shown would reasonably be comfortable with it being shared with this group, and you have their consent for anything sensitive;
- it doesn't break these Terms or the law.
Anyone tagged in a memory can remove their tag. If someone asks you to take down a memory or photo of them, please do.
5. Things you can't do
Don't use Lore to post, share or do anything that:
- is illegal, or promotes or facilitates illegal activity;
- sexualizes minors in any way (we report child sexual abuse material to the authorities);
- is intimate or sexual imagery of anyone who hasn't consented to it being shared;
- harasses, bullies, threatens, intimidates or demeans someone, or promotes hatred or violence against people based on protected characteristics;
- shares someone's private information without permission (such as home address, ID or financial details, or medical information);
- impersonates another person;
- infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights;
- contains malware or spam, or tries to trick people;
- tries to access groups, accounts or data you don't have permission to access, probes or bypasses our security, scrapes the service, or overloads it;
- abuses invite links (for example posting them publicly to flood a group).
6. Reports and enforcement
You can report content or people from inside Lore. Reports go to the Lore team, not to your group. We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or disable accounts that break these Terms or the law, or that put others at risk. Where appropriate and lawful we'll tell you what happened and why. If you think we made a mistake, contact us at [support@YOUR-DOMAIN].
7. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on Lore infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent: [DMCA AGENT NAME, ADDRESS, EMAIL]. Include the information required by applicable law (for US notices, 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)). We may remove the content and, where appropriate, disable repeat infringers' accounts. If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake, you may send a counter-notice.
8. Deleting your account; ending these Terms
You can delete your account at any time from Account & privacy. What gets deleted is described there and in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if required by law, or if we stop offering Lore (we'll give reasonable notice and a chance to download your data where we can).
9. Changes to Lore and these Terms
Lore will evolve. We may add, change or remove features. If we make material changes to these Terms, we'll ask you to accept the updated Terms in the app before you continue using Lore.
10. Disclaimers
Lore is provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to keep your memories safe, but we don't promise Lore will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that content will never be lost. Keep your own copies of photos and videos that matter to you.
